Exibition "Aligi Sassu Mediterraneo"

The exhibition Aligi Sassu Mediterraneo, sponsored by the Town Hall of Sorrento and the Sorrento Foundation, is managed by the architect Marisa Zattini in collaboration with the artist's son, Carlos Julio Sassu Suarez. On display are a substantial number of works, over 80, covering a time span ranging from 1930 to 1997, set up inside the halls of Villa Florentine by architect Augustus Pompili. These paintings, sculptures, ceramics, drawings, theatrical sketches are from the Aligi Sassu Archives and other private collections. In the works, the protagonist is the Mediterranean, seen as the "prince of places" of his imagination, and scape of the soul where the roots of Greek and Latin e culture are. The entrance to the exhibition is free and shall be open to the public until the 25th of September at the following times: Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 17:00 to 21:00, whilst on Saturdays and Sundays, the closing is extended up to 22:00.
