Magazine Sorrento Coast has received many awards at the Travellers' Choice Hotel Awards
The Campania has been the Italian region which received the most awards for its resorts throughout the eleventh edition of the Travellers' Choice Awards, promoted by TripAdvisor review site.
24 hospitality excellences received awards in various categories.
Sorrento's Hotel Prestige (See photo) gained 2nd place in Italy, 8th in Europe and 21st worldwide for "Best Value", whilst the Nido, yet another Sorrento Hotel gained 19th position in Italy.

Notice. Temporary closure of the A3 motorway
The A3 Napoli-Salerno motorway tract from Torre Annunziata Nord to Torre del Greco, Naples bound, will be closed from 22:00 pm till 06:00am on the 9th, 10th, 11th and 14th January 2013. Furthermore, the A3 motorway, Salerno bound, from Torre del Greco to Torre Annunziata Nord, will be closed from 22:00pm to 06:00am on 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th January 2013.

The Sorrento Peninsula has been added to a Nokia app
The Sorrento peninsula has also been added to Nokia's Transport application.
The software for the smartphone of the renowned Finnish company indicated public transport itineraries for reaching desired destinations, and how to reach stations and stops on foot.
Nokia Transport combines all types of public transport - buses, trains, hydrofoils and ferries - and offers detailed information on arrivals and departures. The list of other cites added to the app is: Brescia, Padua, Turin, Bari, Bologna, Catania, Florence, Genoa, Milan, Naples, Palermo, Pisa, Venice and Verona.

Sorrento Coast. Consents and success at the World Travel Market
The Sorrento Peninsula still captivates international tour operators with its attractions, landscapes and gastronomy, history and culture. This has been confirmed at the 2012 London edition of the World Travel Market, which is one of the main appointments for tourism and has celebrated yet another success for the "Product" of the Terra delle sirene. Organized for the second year in a row by the Sorrento Coast, consortium of hoteliers and travel agents, the London event gained unanimous approval by operators, who were once again interested in adding the destination to their holiday packages.

Homage to Alessandro Siani from Sorrento
Alessandro Siani's debut as director couldn't have been "sweeter", his film "Il principe abusivo" was protagonist at the professional cinema days.
Antonio Cafiero has dedicated a marzipan cake (see photo) to the Neapolitan comedian, which is on display in the Pasticceria Primavera in Sorrento.

A week-end dedicated to children with cinema, games and animals in Sorrento
The week-end of the Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th in Sorrento will be totally dedicated to children.
It will all start at 17:30 in Sant'Antonino square where the area will be filled with illuminated christmas figurines. Afterwards, at 18:00, at the Armida Cinema, thanks to Walt Disney, there will be a national preview of Frankenweenie, latest masterpiece by Tim Burton. On Sunday there will be the "Giochi in corso" event, which will transform the corso Italia, from 10:00 to 13:00, into an area for children's sports, with pony games, animation and moments of excitement for all the children.
