On the extreme edge of the Sorrento peninsula is Massa Lubrense, wedged between the gulfs of Naples and Salerno. With its almost 20 square kilometers and a coastline that runs for 25 kilometers with beautiful bays and gravel beaches, it is the most important seaside resort of the Sorrento Coast.
Of interest are: Bay of Ieranto, the fishing villages of Marina of Puolo and Marina of the Lobra, Marina of Cantone, as well as the islets of Li Galli, Isca and Vetara.
Massa Lubrense has also achieved great importance as a center of haute cuisine thanks to the presence on its territory of several internationally renowned restaurants such as Don Alfonso 1870.
The town is divided into 17 ‘Frazioni’ (sub villages) which have replaced the old farm-towns. Among the most characteristic, the Frazione dell’Annunziata, where there is Villa Murat, home of the King of Naples, Gioacchino Murat. Larger, and with the greatest number of inhabitants is the village of Sant'Agata sui due Golfi, where stands the monument The Desert and the Church Chiesa delle Grazie.
