There are seven appointments on the Sorrento Incontra 2023 program, promoted by the Municipality of Sorrento and created by InScena, which will be held from 6 July to 22 September, between the cloister of San Francesco, the Villa Comunale and the Ibsen park.
It starts on July 6, at 7 pm, with the presentation of the book “The strange cases of Club 22” by Francesco Pinto, published by Harper Collins, which will see the participation of Massimiliano Gallo. A whodunit that evokes Naples in the 1960s, which will enliven the cloister of San Francesco with an evening hosted by the journalist Luigi D’Alise.
On 8 July, at 7 pm, in the Villa Comunale, Veronica Maya and the Millenium Ensemble will be on stage, with a show dedicated to children’s theater with fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm. The unmistakable voice of Lina Sastri will instead be the protagonist of the Neapolitan Concert scheduled for July 14, at 8.30 pm in the cloister of San Francesco. It continues on July 28th at 7pm again in the cloister of San Francesco, with the presentation of the book “La notte prima”, published in Cairo, written by Massimo Ugolini, with stories by Maurizio de Giovanni. The volume, presented by the author, tells of the long night preceding the conquest of the third Scudetto in the history of Naples. An unforgettable night, awaited for thirty-three years, told by a young taxi driver with the bump of journalism. Moderated by the writer Francesco Pinto. Musical interventions by Fofò Bruno and Pietro de Cristofaro are foreseen.
After a break, the concert by the duo Alma Porteña will resume on 10 August at 20.30 in the cloister of San Francesco who will host Raffaello Converso on 24 August, again at 20.30, with his show La Canzone Napoletana d’Autore, on guitar Frank Ponzo.
Final, on 22 September, in the Ibsen park, at 8.30 pm with a charity evening entitled “Once upon a time the night” which will see the Neapolitan Oncologist Doctors formation on stage, jazz musicians for charity. A fascinating story that through stories, videos and, of course, music, which retraces a particularly happy period, full of projects and a desire for renewal: the fabulous 60s.
